The Cordyline 'Red Star' (Cabbage Tree) is a striking, palm-like evergreen plant featuring deep burgundy-red, sword-shaped leaves, growing 
4 to 10 feet tall. It thrives in USDA hardiness zones 9 to 11 in full sun to partial shade.

Plant Care & Growing Needs

• Light: Full sun for the richest leaf color, though it tolerates light afternoon shade in very hot inland areas.
• Water: Moderate and regular water during the growing season; let the topsoil dry out between waterings. It dislikes standing water or soggy soil.
• Soil: Loose, fertile, and very well-draining.
• Protection: Shield from harsh, freezing winds. Hardy down to about 10°F (Zone 8); container plants should be moved indoors before hard frosts.
